Probably the strongest answer for this, that scientists can so far give as a perfect example of why this theory is so valid and believed, is because or Miller a Urey's experiment. These men were both scientists throughout the 1950's and they investigated the theory put forth by John Haldane that, life originated in an aquatic environment full of inorganic compounds, and when struck by high amounts of energy(lightning) this produced organic compounds, the first basic building blocks of life.

They tested this by creating the environment that Haldane explained and passing a spark of electricity throughout it. though their experiment tested negatively they led the way and it was proved that organic compound could be created with these conditions. Hence why it is now one of the many accepted theories of how life originated. You should also look up the Panspermia theory of life the other most scientifically relevant theory.
