try going on ebay!
By wearing your seatbelt. If the alarm is going off when you have your seatbelt on, then take it back to the dealer. It is still under warranty. If you are trying to avoid wearing a seatbelt, then I for sure am not going to help you endanger your life. Seat-belts save lives, and that has been proven over and over again. Only a moron would think otherwise.
First, you need to find out what's wrong with the alarm. Alarms protect you by disabling the vehicle if all conditions aren't met and for some reason the alarm thinks some of the conditions aren't met. Take the vehicle to the company that installed the alarm system. You may have to get it towed if you can't find any other way to get it there.
battery may be dying and altenater may be going out
It Is underneath the dash on the drivers side, You are going to have to stick your head up underneath sometimes to find it.
not likely. the 1997 Mazda protege is a different chassis than the 1999 protege (BHA to BJ, respectively). the two transmissions between the two generations are also different, the BHA utilizing the FB4A-EL automatic transmission and the BJ utilizing the FN4A-EL automatic transmission. they also have different engines. you're better off going to a junkyard and pulling a auto trans from a third generation protege (1999-2003)...that would work. if you have any further questions, you can follow this link: www.protegefaq.net hope this helps!
if your horn wont go off its a short to power or faulty conector
From what I have read, there are two options to the consumer:1. Slightly hold the brake while backing (cannot confirm this works)2. Fasten seatbelt or bypass seatbelt safety switch by shorting the two wires under the seat going to the seat belt latch. (I shorted the two wires and it gets rid of the annoying reverse alarm and seatbelt alarm when I just want to take the trash down the road!!! - kills two birds with one stone!)
This seems to be a fault in 92 proteges. It can be fixed but only by going far into the car just to disconnect a wire or two and is quite expensive. It is something that is best left alone and dealt w/ it. The only tip I can give you si sit back and up straight sometimes that can cause it to stay off!
If I was you I would disconnect the battery.
Most likely a plugged core. You can try flushing it, but you may end up replacing it.
This one is real simple. Locate the wire going to the seat belt under your seat and cut it! Cut the wire! Not the seat belt!
