I don't personally think Eoghan Quigg should have won the x factor, as most girls just liked him for his looks, not his voice. His voice wasn't really something that had the x-factor.

Eoghan Carl Christopher Quigg.. (born 12 July 1992) is an Irish[1] pop singer who finished third in the fifth series of the British television music talent contest The X Factor in 2008. As a result of his X Factor success, Quigg was due to be signed by Simon Cowell, X Factor creator/producer and owner and CEO of Syco Records, but was instead signed to RCA after Cowell's offer was withdrawn.[2].Early lifeEoghan Quigg grew up in Dungiven, Northern Ireland. He lives at home with his parents, his two younger brothers and baby sister (who was born during the X Factor finals).Singing along to Disney cartoons since the age of two,[3] Quigg found his voice when he was in class and told to stand up and sing as a punishment. To the teacher's surprise he was amazing and she said to stay behind and go to the school choir, and from then on he sang lead roles in school musicals.[3]Career2008: The X FactorQuigg auditioned for the talent show The X Factor in front of judges Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue, Louis Walsh and Cheryl Cole in 2008. Quigg got past the "judges' houses" stage of the competition, and made it to the live shows in Cowell's 14-24 boys group, along with Scott Bruton and Austin Drage, both of whom were eliminated early in the live shows. On the first live show, Quigg sang John Lennon's "Imagine" and was highly praised by the judges. On the second live show (Michael Jackson week) he sang "Ben" which was also praised. On Big Band week Quigg sang "L-O-V-E" by Nat King Cole and received a standing ovation from the judges and the crowd. He made it to the semi-finals and after performances of Busted's "Year 3000" and ABBA's "Does Your Mother Know" was voted through to the final.Quigg eventually finished third, with Alexandra Burke the winner, and JLS runners-up. He achieved the most public votes a total of six times in the series - the most of all the contestants.[4]2008-2009: Post-X FactorQuigg appeared at the Cheerios Childline Concert at the The O2 in Dublin on 16 December 2008, among big stars including Enrique Iglesias, Anastasia, Boyzone and many more. In December he also appeared on The Late Late Show where it was announced that Irish boyband Boyzone had invited him on their UK and Ireland Tour.[5] He returned to St. Patrick's College in January 2009.[6]After Alexandra Burke won the X Factor, Simon Cowell's Syco Music announced that it intended to sign Quigg, along with Burke, second place JLS, and fourth place Diana Vickers.[7] On 15 January 2009 it was announced that Quigg had landed a record deal with Syco's parent company Sony BMG.[8] The Sun later reported that Cowell had revoked his offer to Quigg and that he has been signed to RCA Records.[2]Quigg and the other finalists, Diana Vickers, Ruth Lorenzo, Laura White, JLS, Alexandra Burke, Daniel Evans and Rachel Hylton, embarked on the X Factor Live tour which began on 22 February and concluded on 25 March 2009 at Wembley Arena.2009-present: First AlbumMain article: Eoghan Quigg (album) Quigg released his first album titled Eoghan Quigg on 6 April 2009.[9] "28,000 Friends" was recorded as a promo song and a music video was shot, however it was never released as a single. The album charted poorly in the UK, only making number 14 and spending only 3 weeks in the top 100.[10] After some initial success on the Irish Albums Chart - where it debuted at #1 - the album soon began free-falling, from #2 on its second week to #20 on its third week. The album spent just a total of 8 weeks on the chart.[10] The album received overwhelmingly bad reviews leading to Peter Robinson in an article for The Guardian claiming it to be "the worst album in the history of recorded sound" and that it was "so bad that it would count as a new low for popular culture".[11] The album was mainly criticised for its complete lack of any original material, poor production and poor singing performance from Quigg.[12]SinglesYear Song Chart positions[14][15] Album UK IRL 2008 "Hero" (with The X Factor finalists) 1 1 Charity Single 2009 "28,000 Friends" 96 32 Eoghan Quigg "-" denotes that the release did not chart or was not released in that territory AlbumsYear Title Chart # Certifications Sales UK IRL 2009 Eoghan QuiggFirst studio albumReleased: 6 April 2009[13]Label: RCA, Sony BMGFormats: CD, Digital Download14 1 UK: TBAIreland: TBAUK: 25,000+Ireland: 7,000+World: 30,000+Performances on The X FactorWeek Song choice Original artist Theme Result Week 1 "Imagine" John Lennon Number One Songs in UK and US Safe Week 2 "Ben" Michael Jackson Songs by Michael Jackson or The Jackson 5 Safe Week 3 "L-O-V-E" Nat King Cole Big Band SafeWeek 4 "Could It Be Magic" Barry Manilow Disco Safe Week 5 "Anytime You Need A Friend" Mariah Carey Songs by Mariah Carey Safe Week 6 "One More Try" George Michael Best of British Safe Week 7 "Never Forget" Take That Songs by Take That Safe Week 8 "Sometimes" Britney Spears Songs by Britney Spears Safe "We're All In This Together" High School Musical American Classics Semi-final "Year 3000" Busted Mentor's Choice Safe "Does Your Mother Know" ABBA Contestant's Choice Final "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday" Wizzard Christmas Song 3rd place "Picture of You" (with Boyzone) Boyzone Celebrity Duet "We're All In This Together" High School Musical Contestant's Favourite
