I don't see any problems adding your boss as friend in your Facebook. Your freedom of expression will be limited though. Just be careful not to post a shout out or status message that are somehow offensive or malicious against your employer or the company you're in.
There were incidents and reports where people got jailed, fired in their jobs and fined thousand of dollars for posting status messages that are offensive.
