At the moment there are some research stations there. The ice covering most of Antarctica is, in some places, over a mile thick. The climate is one of the least hospitable on Earth. Vessels cannot land along most of the coastline. There is almost no vegetation. There were some whaling stations there in the past but they have been abandoned since modern whaling ships are complete processing factories. The use of Antarctica should be a cooperative effort by agreement of nations. No one government should have control of this continent.
there are issues in Antarctica such as global warming - the ice will melt. or that the Japanese whaling is hurting the animals that live there, and the tourists that go there to research.
The History of Whaling is one idea.
well, if you are wealthy you can chase whaling boats away like on ''whale wars'' or their are many organazations you can donate time/money to stop whale hunting.
