If you plan on keeping the horse alive you want that. We keep two buckets in each stall so that we don't have to go out after 6 PM for another fill.
Failing to do so increases the chances for your horse getting Colic. That is expensive if your horse is not caught right away and chances are not great that your horse will make it.
It is easier to give them enough water.
Yes. All animals should have fresh water daily. Horses have a habit of dropping hay in their water and also they like to play in it too. So it should be changed daily. If you don't have a bucket or trough that you can easily dump out, then you should at least put the hose in the water and let it over flow until the water runs clean.
Yes, it should have clean water every day!
Animals do not like drinking dirty water.
Some will go without drinking, rather than having to drink dirty water.
I have heard two different things. One said that they drink anywhere from 5 to 10 gallons a day. Another said they drink about 2% of their body weight a day. I don't know personally because my horses drink out of a pond. Supposing that you, like most people, feed your horses at least 2xs a day, I would think that if you had a 5 gallon bucket filled with water and you gave more water at each feeding, that should be enough.
A horse needs to keep hydrated like us,so we should keep a a bucket of water in their stable at all times but incase a horse/pony is working, none during a lesson. But is extremly important we give plenty of water after they have been working!
Yes, it also helps to clean it with Clorox bleach if it gets to dirty but wash it out really well
Every living thing should have access to what it needs, so yes.
Yes, it is true and you can go to www.howrseinfo.com to get all the answers to all the quizes!! And you can pm me on howrse @ coolhorse21 if you have any Q's!!!
They obviously don't need water every second of the day, but it's certainly important for them to stay hydrated. And notin captivity.
Yes, preferably both clean AND fresh.
Yes! Horses should always have access to fresh, clean water!
All animals should have access to clean drinking water at all times.
yes
Well, yes, horses should always have access to fresh water.
Yes. Water is necessary for many aspects of your horse's health. It helps to flush impurities out through the kidneys, helps the nutrients from food get where they need to go, lubricates joints and protects body organs, helps regulate the horse's body heat, and many other things. No horse should EVER be left without access to clean fresh water. But when a horse is engaged in hard work, you will need to regulate how fast the horse is drinking water, and how much. Too much too fast after hard work can cause colic or laminitis. Allow the horse to cool down first before allowing it to drink large amounts of water.
probably no because what if they don't have contact with water at that time but if its possible and they do have contact to clean water they should drink it!
You should clean it out if any droppings are in it. Also if it is wet or damp. Other than that you might need to clean it every now and then just to keep it fresh.
At all times, never leave your horse without fresh water!
Provide fresh drinking water and clean food.
Yes! Horses need lots of water! Make sure it is clean before they drink. Also make sure it is in a easy place for them to get toyes, even when in the field. there should be water for them to access at all times. Not if the horse just "pigged out" on hay and oats. It could bloat up with air/water and die! Let the horse rest after a hot workout or lots of eating away from lots of water or just give one inch in a bucket.
You should clean it every day.
You should clean the pasture every day. If you don't, people will step in horse "stuff".
