No. Yes. Maybe. If it is pre-1899, don't do any refinishing as that will diminish its value as an antique. If it was made after 1965, refinishing may increase its value as a shooter. Those made between those years are collectable and a well-done refinish WILL bring a higher graded gun down to NRA Good but CAN also bring a Fair or Poor gun up to Good.
