It is up to the two getting married to decide whether to accept an arranged marriage or not if they are Westernized. If they live in their own country they may not have any choice. My individual opinion is no, love should rule who you marry and not someone choosing your mate.

In India the percentage of arranged marriages is higher then love marriages. Could be sixty percent.
Arranged marriages leave no scope for interfaith marriages so that means a particular religion propagates through progeny and the numbers are maintained
