Should girls play Grand Theft Auto 4?

Any 1 can play Grand Theft Auto 4, its a game for everyone.

I don't think girls should be forced to play, nor do I think it is necessary for them to play. But I have no objections if a parent/guardian decides their child is allowed.

First off the game is rated 18, although that doesn't ban an under-eighteen from playing it does ban them from buying it. Hence somebody older would have to buy it for them or on their behalf. Hence if it is bought for the child then it is the responsibility of the buyer to decide whether the content of the game is suitable.

This is complicated by the game being bought by (and for) adults living with children like older siblings or parents. However this too can be overcome by limiting play-time to when the child is asleep or out of the house, limiting the child's exposure greatly.

I think what is more important is the asker is implying that girls should be treated differently from boys. I can't see how any of the above would be applied differently based on sex alone. It is for the parent to decide based on the child's sensitivity and impressionability, not its gender.

Anybody older than 18 should be allowed to make their own decisions. A parent may discourage their son/daughter to get the game but the choice should be ultimately down the the individual.

Yes ,maybe but it's not good because it's a game rated 18+ for adults, and parents don't get it and they let their kids play all kind of games.
