My ten year old is begging me for a cell phone and wont stop and she said "but evry one has one and its not fair". So i got soo tiered of the complaning that i got her one for her b-day and loved it she dint do anything wrong or take any bad picturs. So i think it is a big responsabilety but if you trust your ten year old then it is a good idea fora tenyear old to have a cell phone.

Yes, teens should be allowed to have cellphones. It is a great way to teach teens responsibility and proper use of a phone, and it is something that is actually theirs. Teaching responsibility is the main factor, and teens are starting to become independent, so they should be allowed to have cell phones so they can learn responsibility (and consequences from improper use). In todays world one can buy one so cheap it is worth owning one even if only for emergencys. What if he or she gets lost or falls off their bike, with one they can always stay in contact when needed. This works both ways too when kids stay out late the parents are allways concerned of where their children are and if one is OK, with one a concerned parent can phone to see all is OK! I suggest buying one as they only cost £20 for a basic model!

∙ 12y agoYes, teens & preteens do need phones so they can contact guardians in case of an emergency. Also it helps them talk to friends. A child should be given a phone about at the start of middle school because they'll probably want to join clubs after school and this is where problems can arise. Still, with the phone should come strict limits on usage that gradually ease up after some time. Children can often let new electronic devices go to their head so you'll want to give them some boundaries to get them used to the idea of a phone.
