I have now been off the depo for over a yr now, and the pains im experiencing in my back, boobs and abdomen are like what I can only describe as early stages of labour, the doc has told me it can take up to 18 months,before my period will start i find each month that goes by the pain gets worse.

∙ 9y agoIt is normal. I get the same, so i spoke to a family planning nurse and she says this is completely normal and it can last up to about a year.

I have the same problem. I had 2 depo shots and bled the entire time. My last shot was due a month ago and have been suffering ever since. Still bleeding, horrifying cramps and abdominal pain. Lately I have been experiencing dizziness as well. I can't wait until this is out of my system!

yes it is normal to have your period when you are on depro privera. Everyperson on it has different reactions..........so you can't get an answer from anyone else if it is working right for you.

I've been on depo for a year 1/2..yes it is okay for you to stop having normal periods after starting the depo shot. although you might have cramping and spotting after three months when its time for your next shot.
