A person who was/is raised or settled in New York City. "New Yorker" does not refer to anyone who lives in the state of New York, but anyone who originated or settled in New York City.My Definition: As a New Yorker myself, I would say a New York native would be a person who experienced a change in New York, knows their way around the area, and knows the better way of transporting around the city.
