Should kids be able to watch things their parents watch - a preacher told me if your kids can not watch it you should not watch it?

There are many disturbing images that children should not have to process at a young age. Acts of violence are just one example. ∙ 8y agoThere are many things that are quite appropriate for older people but which are not suitable for children. Children are not permitted to drink alcohol, whereas their parents usually are allowed. Children are not allowed to drive a car along a public road, but their parents may.
Similarly, there are movies and other television shows that parents can enjoy without harm, but which are unsuitable for children. In fact, there are movies suitable for early teens, that should not be seen by younger children. The decision is not based on a repressive view of one size fits all, but on what could frighten, mislead or harm the normal mental development of a child at various stages in his or her young life.
