Can a 13 year old date a 6 year old?

The word "date" meaning what? A chaperoned school dance yes. A car date without parental supervision? Heavens NO! You want a grandchild? I'm talking about being dropped off at a movie, then being picked up. I'm the only girl in my grade that is dating and some people think it's weird.

---- I say no. When you're in 6th grade, you're what, 11 years old? That's not an appropriate time to start dating, especially if you're not going to get married for another 10 years, at least! In middle school just focus on making lots of friends, both boys and girls. Hang out with groups of friends...seriously. You're not going to meet your future spouse in middle school, so there's no need to waste time dating. Just hang out with your friends and have lots of fun!

yea its fine. alot of people in my class are already dating. i have a boyfriend (im a girl).......so its fine to date in 6th grade

Of course it's fine. In my class, there are like 20 people in my grade of 91 that are dating..... it's fine, no matter WHAT your mom says.Dating is ok for kids when you know what it means im in the 6th grade and i have dated mom says its ok if she knows who they are

If the difference in the age is just of a year or so, then why not.
You don't specify a location, but in the US it's almost certainly not actually forbidden by law, as long as their parents approve.
If by "date" you mean "have sex with" then technically speaking it's probably statutory rape both ways.

Can they? Well, yes -- they can and do. Should they though?....

At age six, your neurological and behavioral development is nowhere near complete (neurological development doesn't complete until well into the 20's in fact). "Dating", depending on how you define it, is a couple-based relationship and if it's age appropriate, it's be with another six year old. Furthermore, the term "dating" in English refers to a courting affair. Six is Way too young for that.

So, while 6 year olds can "date" (within reason), I would say that it's an eminently bad idea, and primary relationships at that age should focus on the parents and family; and not on courtship.
