Should kids under six get homework?

It should be recognized that any further responses to this question are opinions. -- My opinion is that children under six are too immature to be responsible for homework on a regular basis, but that it could be beneficial for them to be responsbile for an occasional home project with parental assistance. No, kids under the age of 15 should not get homework because at this age they are too busy doing other stuff. High school kids get far too many assignments and it should be reduced to only no assignments! The issue of homework is partly a matter of fashion. In the 1950s in Britain it was very rare to give any homework to kids under age 10+ but the schoolday was longer. It often lasted from 9am-4.30pm.
