Justice is the concept that imagines a situation in which everyone gets what they deserve, whether they like it or not.

Law is the concept that certain behaviors can be forbidden or compelled by one authority, howsoever derived, that covers the people within a specific geographic area.

Example:

A man is fired from his workplace because he refused to let his boss sleep with his wife. He then sees his baby starving and steals a quart of milk from the boss.

Justice would dictate that he not be punished and that the boss not only reinstate him, but suffer penalty for creating the situation in the first place.

Law would dictate that the man who stole the milk be punished, and that the boss receive compensation for his loss. The baby in this scenario may continue to starve.
