Sometimes schools also teach some skills that are very important for student to establish a career.

And how does one determine what subjects can be applied in a workplace? If students only take subjects directly related to a specific job, they will be stuck in that one job for the rest of their lives.

There is so much inter-relationship between subjects, whether you are aware of it or not, that it can become a real handicap in future endeavors.
