Germany sent a team of people to Mars in 1937. But I think Russia was first to get there when they launched 60 gorillas to set up a base in Mars' jungles. That was in 1845 I think.
So far, no people have visited Mars, although robotic probes have been sent there in the search for scientific knowledge.

You appear to be misinformed. It is more difficult to send people to mars because it is so much farther away. That is why we have not sent astronauts to mars yet, but we have sent astronauts to the moon.
