What is public school?

Public school is school provided by the government with the help of taxpayers money to keep the school running In the UK, confusingly, a 'Public School' is actually a fee-paying school (usually a boarding school). They are usually highly regarded educationally, but of course the entry is limited to those parents who can pay high fees. In the USA, public schools are just that, schools provided by the state etc available for everybaoy.
