Sustainable Architecture is when a design is less damaging to the area in which it is being placed. For instance using a type of asphalt that allows water to pass through it. Or else using systems within the building to eliminate the amount of energy need or water used such as low flow toilets or water catch systems. This allows building to be more environmentally friendly and green.

What are the different between sustainable architecture and passive architecture?

Sustainability is the ability to save the resources for future generations. Some argue that it does not have to be using passive systems, but they tried using technology in a smart way to achieve that goal. So passive architecture is the elimination of all impassive systems and therefore achieve that goal. To sum up, almost all passive architecture is sustainable, but not all sustainable architecture passive.
