Cubans come from an island 90 miles off key west Florida , Cubans are very prosperous people , they do not consider themselves latinos being they are not from latin America but from the antillas it is an island with over 11 million people . they are highly educated due to communism they exiled into north America and other countries all the way to Europe . Cubans are not immigrants they are hopeful to return to their country once the present government ends . their problem is not hunger or bad education but political. cuba at this moment is communist . they consider themselves exiles not immigrants if cuba was not communist there would be no Cubans here . their problems are not of those of south , nor central America they would not be crossing borders to get here just to work in miniual jobs and send back home they love the u.s.a. and are very grateful but they long for their country to be free . what they do not understand is why people cross the border to come here when those countries are not communist why not stay and make ones country rich?
No, let's all remain straight here
Catering to Mexico? Yes, but what about catering to Cubans? That "wet foot/dry foot" thing is BS! Cubans can become American citizens just by floating over here on a raft and when they get to land, boom!-they're automatically citizens. No other nationality has that right-Europeans, Mexicans, none! What is up with that??

Many Cubans have come to the US to escape political repression, seek economic opportunities, and reunite with family members. The Cuban Revolution in 1959 led to significant restrictions on personal freedoms and economic hardship, prompting many Cubans to migrate to the US in search of a better life.
