No, the US was right to delay its involvement in WW1. This is because it was not directly involved in any dispute and would have incurred even greater political and economic turmoil if it had entered earlier.
Britain
Britain
yes, Britain entered the war at the beginning, the united Staes entered the war over two years later.
OF COURSE!!
U.S entered the war in1917 at the side of Britain(Allie side).
President Roosevelt
they wanted to help Britain and France as they were all allies and powerful countries, the us had the best weapons around and after the war France and Britain would have to pay the us a great deal of money for fighting in the war
The gamble that Germany made before the US entered the war was that their blockade would defeat Britain. The US troops arrived before the blockade defeated Britain.
No. By 1941, Britain was on its knees and if the US had not entered the war in December of that year, Britain would eventually have been overrun by Nazi Germany.
The US entered the war on April 6,1917
morally no, however the country was not wanting to get into another war at the time. When they did enter the war, they were stuck for years in the war without a way out. However, many Jews perished for their delay. Had the U.S entered WWII in 39. then Russia probably would not be involved until both the US and Britain were defeated (France did a fine job of defending themselves). Without the two fronts, Germany would have bowled over the US and Britain. With Hitler fighting two wars, he could not fight effectively. The US, therefore, probably did the right thing in retrospect, but should they have entered in 39, probably not. They should have been involved when Hitler took over in 33.
