When Samuel L. Jackson was in negotiation with George Lucas to do the Star Wars prequels, he asked for a purple light saber. No other significance.
Star Wars, even the less-loved prequels, is wildly popular both in terms of box office receipts and in terms of long-term cultural impact.
Episodes I, II, and III are prequels to Episode IV, which is often called "Star Wars." However, a prequel to Episode one set in the youth of Yoda is also rumored.
It's unknown, but in the Prequels he had to be about 60, which makes him in his late 70s or early 80s in the Original Triology.
As far as filming order is concerned, Star Wars: A New Hope (Episode IV) was the first Star Wars. The prequels (Episodes I-III) were filmed much later, and they served as the backstory that leads to the events of A New Hope.
George Lucas is the original writer for star wars, he has changed it for good or for bad (most who saw the original say for bad) and wrote the prequels when filming the original.
This question is hard to answer for a number of reasons.1) The Original Trilogy shows the struggle and strife that the Rebel Alliance goes through to end the oppression of the Galactic Empire. The Original Trilogy is the "original." It's the first that everyone grew up with. Most older adults would prefer them over the prequels.2) The prequels (Clone Wars) shows the rise of the Sith and the fall of the Jedi. It appeals more to younger audiences seeing as that it is what we grew up with. I was five when Episode I came out.3) Numerous adults have actually enjoyed the prequels. Mostly because the animated TV show ,The Clone Wars, is something that dads (and moms) can watch with their children and really connect with them. This allows for older fans to connect with the prequels, while also gives younger Star Wars fans the ability to learn about the Original Trilogy.4) Honestly, any Star Wars fan would love both the Original Trilogy and the Prequels (Episodes I, II, and III).
No. George Lucas didn't expect Star Wars to be a big hit at all. But then after Episode 4 received a huge box office, Lucas then decided to expand the storyline.
