SHOULD WE have zoos

I personally think we should have Zoo's in the world because the are a really big help to endangered animals. When you watch old films and T.V programs it shows a Zoo as a hard, cruel place but in truth its not that bad. I mean, Animals get fed, cared for and don't life in cages. The live in open plains to suit the species. As in, monkeys have a lot of trees, penguins have lakes and rocks, tigers have bushes and caves to hid in.

(Btw.. I'm not Lecturing you.. this was a topic for a debate at school)

there should be Zoos because you see them in cages and they cant kill you. you can see the most coolest animals in the world

Sure there are some zoos that kill animils and that is really sad but we are trying to stop it and you can help.:)

I love zoos and used to go to the zoo when i was young and i loved it and every one should be there and have fun. Some times they put the animals family in the zoo with it.

It depends on your point of view.

For example, animal lovers might not want animals in cages.

The keepers might argue they are kept well and fed better in a zoo as they can live without being killed by poachers and we can treat them if they fall ill.

They can also be successfully bred for re-introduction to the wild.

There are many different answers to that question, and it all depends on who you ask. There are many zoos that are very good and take very good care of their animals, but that said, there are also a lot of zoos that do not come anywhere close to providing the physical and mental stimulation that the animals require. However, zoos do amazing conservation work, they learn about species in ways that they never would be able to by observing them in the wild, they educate people and they give them personal experiences with wildlife that they would never otherwise be able to have. So in my opinion, yes, zoos should exist, but only ones that have the resources to provide a full, enriched life for every animal.

Yes they should... maybe not all of them, but some yes... for a good reason too...

Some Zoos have really good endangered species programmes, and can artificially reproduce an animal's habitat, which has been destroyed by deforestation or other man-related things.

No because would you like to live in a cage I don't think so. Animals have been killed and that's sad that why there's a sanctuary for a reason zoos are just bad in my opinion.
