Yes any bible is good

2nd Answer to this question:

All bibles are not the same as most english speaking bibles are built upon the King James Version, however there are no published works which take the reader back to the original Hebrew-Chaldee- or Greek other than the KJV or often referred to as the 1611. Only this bible has a one to one work which can be used to understand the translation of biblical text into the KJV.

The second work one will need in their study is a copy of James Strongs dictionary and concordance, often referred to as " a Strong's concordance" This work contains all of the direct ties to the KJV english text and the original Hebrew - Chaldee (Babylon -Daniel) or Greek word which was used. It also takes you back to the prime meanings or root words which are given, so the student can obtain a better understanding of many Hebrew or Greek words.

This work is available for the iPhone and iPod touch from Brian T Web and its know as "Strongs KJV" Brian's work includes both the KJV and Strong's in one work

Other Suggestions concerning your study bible:

- Obtain a KJV bible with wide margins, because you are going to be making a lot of notes in that bible (yes you can write in your bible, mine have lots of writing in them)

- Get a bible with text which you can read comfortably, remember you will be using this bible through your life so get one you can read when you are older

- Get a bible with a good binding. preferably sown and bound in leather with gold or silver leaf on the edges, these tend to stand the test of time. I have worn out several bibles in the past 10 - 12 years of study. My glued versions simply fall apart over time. Loose leaf is nice but get good support rings for the pages. You can make notes and insert them in a loose leaf bible.

- Bibles and their study materials are heavy. so expect to tote around a back pack to keep all your study gear together in.

Suggested bible for students? EW Bullinger's Companion bible. Keep this separate from your KJV bible that your write notes in. This is a study bible that you need to keep a clean copy of.

Other works: The Smiths bible dictionary

What is the best type of Bible for a college student?

Either a study bible or a reference bible. The study bible has extended footnotes and maps but the reference bible has verses connected on the same topic. I guess you just have to look at a few bibles before you really find what you're looking for. If you're just looking to learn God's word then any standard bible would work but there's even some bibles geared just towards college students and their issues.
