If your washer is going to get a lot of use and is likely to fail in a year, then it may be worth considering a service contract.

If you have a reliable, well-built washer that you only run once a week, you will probably not need service for years.

In general, a service contract is a gamble, where the service company gambles that the money you pay will be less than the service you will need. Generally you don't need service so they get to pocket your money, which is why they try so hard to get you to sign.

Even if you decide you want a service contract, you should try to talk with other people who have the same contract and who needed service, to see if they were satisfied with the service they paid for.

Why should you buy a contract phone?

You should because it is cheaper.... usually if you just buy a phone it is like TRIPPLE the price than it is with a 2-year contract. In my opinion a 2year contract is better

Should you buy a non contract phone or a contract phone?

It is up to you. A contract means you can get the phone for free, and get a new one when the contract renews. Non contract is when you have to buy the phone up front and put a PAYG sim in it

Should you buy a service contract for your air conditioner?

With major purchases it is usually wise to purchase service contracts for after the warranty runs out. Unless you can afford costly repairs, or to replace the air conditioner in the newt few years, you should purchase one.

where can I buy a cell phone with no contract to use with altell service ?

The easiest way is to buy a phone from Alltel, but don't buy it at the contract price. If you pay the full price for the phone, you will be able to have their service on a month to month basis and no contract. If you know someone selling or getting rid of an alltel phone, that would work also. Buying the phone at the discounted rate from alltel is what leads to the contract. They sell you a $200 phone for $19.99 and have you promise to keep their service for 2 years. Eliminate the discount on the phone and you can sign up with no contract.

Can you buy a phone on contract and unlock it to use another sim currently i live in st.kitts but i want to know if i can buy a blakberry torch on contract and unlock it to use with my sim?

Theoretically you could but it would not be very smart financially. You would have to pay a monthly fee for the contract phone and service on it that you will not be using and you will also be paying for the service you will be using through your service provider where you got your SIM card.

Should you buy a service contract?

Service contracts that you may buy with a new car provide for the repair of certain parts or problems. These contracts are offered by manufacturers, dealers, or independent companies and may or may not provide coverage beyond the manufacturer's warranty. Remember that a warranty is included in the price of the car while a service contract costs extra. Before deciding to purchase a service contract, read it carefully and consider these questions: What's the difference between the coverage under the warranty and the coverage under the service contract? What repairs are covered? Is routine maintenance covered? Who pays for the labor? The parts? Who performs the repairs? Can repairs be made elsewhere? How long does the service contract last? What are the cancellation and refund policies? Click here for more about used car service contracts. As an appliance installed I suggest that everybody buy an extended warranty on ice machines. It will definitely pay for itself. As far as other kitchen appliances, it is probably not worth the money.

How much is it to buy a blackberry?

It depends on your service provider, how old the phone is or if it is a newer model, and if you are buying the phone with a 1 or 2 year contract or without a contract agreement. You should check in on your service providers website or go to a phone store and ask them there. Blackberry phones range from as low as $70 to as much as $500.

What is the difference between a contract city and a full service city?

Contract cities buy services on contract for public works, fire, police etc. Full service cities have their own fund (taxes, general fund revenue streams) system for the services including retirements.

Should you buy a service contract for a used car?

Like a warranty, a service contract provides repair and/or maintenance for a specific period. But warranties are included in the price of a product, while service contracts cost extra and are sold separately. To decide if you need a service contract, consider whether: the service contract duplicates warranty coverage or offers protection that begins after the warranty runs out. Does the service contract extend beyond the time you expect to own the car? If so, is the service contract transferable or is a shorter contract available? the vehicle is likely to need repairs and their potential costs. You can determine the value of a service contract by figuring whether the cost of repairs is likely to exceed the price of the contract. the service contract covers all parts and systems. Check out all claims carefully. For example, "bumper to bumper" coverage may not mean what you think. a deductible is required and, if so, the amount and terms. the contract covers incidental expenses, such as towing and rental car charges while your car is being serviced. repairs and routine maintenance, such as oil changes, have to be done at the dealer. there's a cancellation and refund policy for the service contract and, whether there are cancellation fees. the dealer or company offering the service contract is reputable. Read the contract carefully to determine who is legally responsible for fulfilling the terms of the contract. Some dealers sell third-party service contracts. The dealer must check the appropriate box on the Used Car Buyers Guide if a service contract is offered, except in states where service contracts are regulated by insurance laws. If the Guide doesn't include a service contract reference and you're interested in buying one, ask the salesperson for more information. If you buy a service contract from the dealer within 90 days of buying a used vehicle, federal law prohibits the dealer from eliminating implied warranties on the systems covered in the contract. For example, if you buy a car "as is," the car normally is not covered by implied warranties. But if you buy a service contract covering the engine, you automatically get implied warranties on the engine. These may give you protection beyond the scope of the service contract. Make sure you get written confirmation that your service contract is in effect. The Buyers Guide cautions you not to rely on spoken promises. They are difficult to enforce because there may not be any way for a court to determine with any confidence what was said. Get all promises written into the Guide. Be sure to ask if parts replaced will be original manufacturer parts or aftermarket or salvaged parts. Many service contract companies won't pay for oem parts, or want to supply their own parts. Be sure your favorite mechanic will honor the service contract. Many places won't deal with companies they don't know. One last thought: the vast majority of people who buy extended warranties do not see a return on their money. A warranty is only as good as the name on the paper. If the warranty company can not pay the claim you just flushed your cash away. My advice is to stick to manufacturer warranties (Ex: Toyota, Chevrolet etc...)
