You can if you want you don't have to. Rayquaza is a dragon type so if you hit it with ice moves like Kyogre or Walwrin it shouldn't be too hard, but you'll need lots of Ultra Balls and alot of patience and make sure that you save before you battle him just in case, but if you want to do it without trying to hard just use the master ball.

∙ 12y agoIt depends. If u r catching it b4 the battle frontier, the save before u battle it, and use ultra balls.
If u r catching it after battle frontier, then go to the battle tower, give the item to a Pokemon u want to clone, put it in box 10, save, go to the link battles, do open battle, and when it is saving, turn it off. When u start it up again, u will have that Pokemon and it's item in ur party and in box 10. :)
