I recommend leaving them stock.

Chip? Dodge does not have any replaceable "chips" in any of its computers.
A chip? If you mean a chip for a performance upgrade, then you should know that the Grand Prix does not use a chip. You have to get your PCM (Computer) reprogrammed. Check out zzperformance.com

I added: Hypertech chip, K&N air filter, headers with dual exhaust. The best improvement came from the headers.
There should only be one bolt that holds the clip on
It will increase performance but will decrease mileage, not increase it. More performance uses more fuel.
