You can get a pet rat from most pet stores.
I don't have a pet rat!
Rat food they sell it at walmart
Usually, no. But in extreme situations when the rat doesn't have anything to eat and it's on the point of starvation then it might eat another rat.
If your pet rat is sick: take it to the vet or your local animal clinic. If you need to find another home for it: advertise it in the newspapers, and on bulletin boards around your town/city, and ask around your school or work (OR ask your mum/dad to ask around their work).
At least an hour a day.
Emily Carr had one pet rat.
All pet rats are the same. They are all called fancy rats except for the Albino which is slightly smaller than the regular fancy rat. If you go to the pet store and see tanks that say small, medium, and large rat you should know that the small rats are simply babies and the large rat are older.
Keep that rat away from your child and take her to a doctor
I'm not sure if you are asking if you should let your pet rat go free as in releasing it or if you are asking if it should be allowed to roam free in the room or something else? I'll answer the questions I listed above since I'm not sure I completely understand the question. Should you let your pet rat go free as in releasing it? No. Pet rats have usually been handled a good bit by humans. They've learned to count on humans for food. They may have even been around other pets, such as a cat, that tolerates them in your home environment but another cat in the wild would kill the rat. Should you let your pet free in the room? Not unless you've completely rat-proofed the room. The rat could get away from you where you couldn't catch it and it could do a lot of damage to your home. It can chew through the wall and go into the attic and chew wires. There are countless dangers of having a rat running free in your home. Please feel free to request additional information if I haven't answered your question.
If you trained it, you should be able to call its name, so it comes. If not, choose a food your rat like and set it out, keep the cage open so the rat can get in!
