From my experience I would say Yes. I've left a (Costco) apple pie (covered) on my counter. Within a few days mold grew on it. Costco apple pies are not factory made like boxed pies sold in the supermarket. Therefore they have a short shelf life. Boxed pies are sold non-refrigerated however, I still refrigerate them after opening.
