Restarting any game requires you to make a good judgment on how you are going. Look for valid points for and against.

Let's look at points for restarting:

- You are stuck at that point in the game and do not think you can go forward.

- Your team is not well developed and can do with improvement.

- You do not have much money or items.

- You have failed many missions before.

- You are not very far into the game.

- You wish to revisit the plot.

- You know you can do better if you start as a different Pokemon.

And let's look at points against restarting:

- You are very far into the game.

- Your team is well developed and have many recruits.

- You have a lot of money and rare items.

- You have a lot of things filled in in the Adventure Log.

- You feel you cannot complete the game up to the standard of the first completion.

- You have a whole bunch of worthwile missions yet to do.

- You have gained all or most of the Friend Areas.

Look at the lists above. If you have agreed with most of the points in the for list, restart the game. However, if you agreed more with the against list, do not restart. Just remember that it is your choice and that restarting the game results in complete memory loss which cannot be retrieved again.

That's up to you to decide. Starting a new game will erase all your current progress, as well as all the Pokémon you have caught.

I suggest you to transfer at least the Pokémon you do care about to a Pokémon Bank account or to another version if you have one, if you don't want to lose them, of course.
