The first related link below is to an image file showing the Sumerian writing of the word muĝu, meaning "my name" (it just so happens that many cuneiform characters could be read in several ways, and that the character known today as MU could be used to write both mu and ĝu).

The second related link shows how Sumerian writing looked when it was written in the normal way, as impressions on clay tablets. This particular text is a letter to the king of the city of Lagash from the high-priest Luenna, written around 2400 BC.
