Also you have to take into consideration his past reletionships, has he been married before? How old he is? Does he have kids? A good job? Still in school? What kind of home life did he grow up in? His religious beliefs? How long have you been together? All these answers can give you a good starting point for where your reletionship is heading. But the best advise I can give you is to have a converstion with him about it, it doesn't have to turn into an battle, just casually bring it up and see what his thoughts are.
