How long after a tongue pierced can you have a beer?
I got my tongue pierced over a week ago and my friend got her's a year before me. She drank on the third night after her piercing, and the swelling on her tongue went down. I also did the same, and swelling also went down. Just be careful, cause when you drink beer that early after piercing it, the tongue will tingle from the carbonation. My tongue ring is almost completely healed now.

Well actually that's not a good thing, the barbell was too short for the piercing to allow for swelling, the expansion of the piercing hole is and indication of some sensitivity to the metal or the aftercare product you are using. Consider seeing your piercer tomorrow to have them take a look.

Who can get a tongue piercing?
There are two ways to take this question. The first is you asking where on the tongue it can be pierced, to which the answer is simple. It CAN be pierced anywhere on the tongue. Obviously, certain areas will be more prone to cause speech impediments. The next way is of you asking where to get it done (i.e. shop/studio, mall, etc.). Again, a simple answer, the best place to have it done is at a reputable studio. No place except a studio will pierce a tongue and if they do it's grounds for a lawsuit.

Normal placement is 3/4" from the tip of the tongue to the top ball. If your tongue is unusually long placement can vary slightly. If you remove the piercing (no sooner than 72 hours from the time the piercing was first done) you will need to wait at least 3~4 weeks from removal date to get the piercing redone. The tongue swells and distends once it's pierced so we need to be sure this swelling is gone and the old piercing had healed up so there is no bump or distension from the old piercing to interfere with the new piercing. edit: did you know people get (not uncommon either) brain abscesses from their tongue piercings? be careful, because this is definitely one of the most dangerous areas to pierce considering how close it is to your brain stem.
Can you pierce your tongue in Claire's?
No they do not do body piercing nor are they licensed to.As far as I know, they only do ear piercings. I went there to get my ear pierced and the sign only mentioned ear piercings. Claire's is not licensed to pierce anything let alone ears, however they skirt around health regulations by not mentioning "piercing" to the business licencing authorities.
How is a horizontal or scoop tongue piercing done and what jewelry is used?
Generally how it is done depends on the piercer. Sometimes they will use a clamp and sometimes they will mark out and do the piercing free hand depending on what they are more comfortable with doing. There is a difference between the horizontal tongue piercing and a scoop tongue piercing. Horizontal goes straight through the sides of the tongue and a scoop piercing is more like a typical surface piercing (called a scoop because of the curved barbell used in the procedure) Basically the piercer will mark out the piercing and clamp it (optional) they will then pass the needle through the tongue or into the tongue and back out again in a curved motion for the scoop piercing, after the needle is through the jewelery will be threaded, balls tightened etc, all done. The jewelery that SHOULD be used for both the horizontal and scoop piercings is either a PTFE (a type of plastic) with either metal or PTFE balls. The only other option that will give best results is a Tygon (another type of plastic, generally better for movement but needs replacing regularly) and again either metal or PTFE balls. If the piercer says "YES" to this piercing but offers a STAINLESS STEEL or TITANIUM barbell you should find someone else to do this piercing as it is probable that they have either not done this piercing before and dont have the right skill set and there are a lot of unnecessary complications that can come from metal bars through the tongue ie. speech impediment, difficulties eating, chewing, swallowing etc. There is a lot of factors to consider about this piercing, do not jump into something like this without reading up on it a fair amount first.THIS PIERCING IS A MORE DIFFICULT PIERCING TO PERFORM, PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOUR PIERCER IS QUALIFIED AND EXPERIENCED WITH THIS TYPE OF PIERCING.Hi :) sorry but just fort i shud let you know,Mine was marked out && clamped i have a PTFE bar With metal balls. Is changing a tongue bar 12 days after piercing to soon?
I don't think so. I took mine out to change the balls after 4 days and put it back in. That shouldn't be any different than changing it altogether. Unless your tongue is still swelled after 12 days, but mine went down after only 4
How do you reopen a tongue ring hole that has closed up?
I had a tongue piercing for awhile, but now I took it away. Just like you I wanted to have it back so I went to the local piercing studio and let them do it, it's just like the first time you take it, just easier - Since they'll already have a hole to stick it it. So get the piercing-shop to do it!
Tragus piercing swimming?
I have had my Tragus pierced on both ears, and went swimming almost right after getting the piercing. Mine was fine.
