Strong Republic
---
Gloria Arroyo's slogan shown in many posters, billboards, and stickers was "Strong Republic." As Arroyo had explained, it means two things: More efficient government bureaucracy founded on the solid rocks of democratic institutions; and the eradication of factionalism that hampers decision-making. But we understood "Strong Republic" in a different way. Amid allegations of Arroyo's involvement in shady deals and electoral cheating, we wanted a government that would inspire confidence and trust.
