I'm not sure I understand this question. How do you install a MB 500sl soft top? Are you asking how to replace an existing soft top? Are you talking about a European 107 model or a later 129 model MB? The later 500sl's, made until 2002...if you have to ask this question, you won't be able to install, what I presume to be a new, replacement canvas top. You need to go to an upholsterer...you have to buy the top, and then pay for them to install it. This is pretty much an all day event and can cost anywhere from $750.00 to $2,000.00 at the dealers...avoid the dealers...they just send them out to local upholstery shops and mark up the cost. Or, if you just want to take the hard top off, and use the convertible top..remove the hard top and pop up the boot cover. Now, if you''re talking about a 2003 and later 500sl...and you can't find the soft top, that's because there isn't one...all there is back there is a fold down hard top that fits into the trunk.
Turn on the comand control unit, activate the system settings menu press serv then press the time soft key. and their you are good luck!!

Clean tires when they are cool to the touch. Begin by wetting the surface of the wheel down with water, apply factory approved tire cleaning spray to tire then using a soft brush scrub entire surface of tire, rinse completely and wipe dry.
The soft top of the 300SL ( W129) is operated by a control unit, not by relays. If you want a can tray find a localization picture of the control unit for the soft top
