This seems to be a growing trend these days. Why bother training with a avalanche of Resumes sitting on their desks? It is truly an "employers market". They can easily bring someone on for a couple of months or even weeks (so much for the traditional 3 month probationary getting-to-know-you period) and then just simply replace them with the very next Resume that is sitting on their desks. Rinse and repeat.

They still get the work done, but don't have to bother paying for insurance or vacation days or any of the other benefits. It's also much cheaper than going through a Temp Agency for these workers.

It's an absolutely horrible thing to do to your "fellow man/woman", because for most people on unemployment if they have a "break in claim" with unemployment they either loose their unemployment benefits all together or their unemployment benefit is recalculated at the new "job" hourly rate. I've seen some people who were getting $405 a week wind up with $0 a week, and other people who were getting $468 a week wind up with only $50.

May God have mercy on the souls of employers who play this "game"
