The mountain lion (Puma concolor) is also called the puma, catamount, cougar, and mountain screamer. They range from Alaska to Central and South America. Pumas have no stripes or spots, but a beautiful gray skin on their bodies to help them camouflage in the wilderness of snow and mountain. The movie Homeward Bound had a puma chasing two dogs, who were smart enough to get the puma in water. Pumas are in the family Felinae. It is a medium - sized cat bigger than 12 house cats!
