yes, some people do. there are many reasons of why a person changes for the worst. one of them, being that a person wants to get rid of their "passive" attitude, and overdoes an "aggressive" attitude, which makes them very unfriendly towards old friends, to whom they were once very nice to.
in fact, i have a friend who used to be very friendly and polite, but once he joined a deathcore band, his personal style changed and he became very quiet and rude towards people outside of his little circle.
