It is expensive to build and maintain wind turbines. Where the wind is blowing is often not where the electricity is needed. The wind may not be blowing when there is a demand for electricity.
We should save electricity so there is enough for people to use when they really need it. In addition, saving electricity reduces the need for natural resources needed to produce electricity, therefor reducing the environmental footprint of our electric grid and making our economy more efficient. Besides, who doesn't want to save on their electricity bills?

Your question makes the assumption that "nukes" should be stopped. Nuclear weapons were developed to provide overwhelming military force. The case can and has been made that nuclear weapons are a necessity in preventing the use of force by other nations. While this is not a popular view among many people, the argument can be made that it is a realistic viewpoint.
If you do not know those people, you should not. Though you can talk to them after the argument.
