conduction deafness
They can; the Apollo moon landing heard the sound of hammering, among other things. See link below.
Duncan Heyward thought the terrible sound he heard was made by a panther or other wild animal.

Sound requires a medium, such as air or water, to propagate. Light, on the other hand, travels as electromagnetic waves and does not require a medium. Therefore, light does not produce sound waves that can be heard by the human ear.
When astronauts touch their helmets, sound vibrations can travel through the material and air between the helmets, allowing them to hear each other. This method of sound conduction is known as bone conduction and helps transmit vibrations directly through solid surfaces, like the helmets, bypassing the need for air as a medium for sound.
Hearing depends on sound waves which vibrate the ear drum and are translated into impulses which are fed to the brain.
That sounds like a description of heat conduction.

Sound can't be heard on the moon because sound need a medium to travel and particles to collide each other in order to travel. since in a vaccum (space) you do not have air, meaning no particles, sound can't be heard on the moon.
The grating sound produced by friction of the pleural surfaces rubbing against each other is known as pleural friction rub. It is commonly heard in conditions like pleurisy and can be described as a creaking or grating sound that is typically heard during both inspiration and expiration. Pleural friction rub can indicate inflammation of the pleura and is generally associated with pain on breathing.
Audible sound is the sound which is between 20 Hertz to 20000 Hertz and can be heard by human beings, whereas Inaudible sound may be below 20 Hertz or above 20000 Hertz and this can't be heard by human beings.
During breeding season, numbats make a soft clicking sound. This soft clicking is also heard from young numbats calling to their mothers, but it is different to the adult sound. Numbats have also been known to make soft growling or hissing noises to warn off other numbats.
