Since most Mediterranean islands are located in Europe, it is safe to say that about 1,350-1,400 of these islands are in Southern Europe.
Northeastern Europe is one of the coldest inhabited places on Earth. Southern Europe is the warmest place in all of Europe, so Northeastern Europe is most definitely not warmer than Southern Europe.
