I found another less vulnerable place to discharge the spa the next few times. All seemed well. Now I am seeing a large withering tree further out in the yard. I am thinking that the salts have leached down to the roots and are causing the problem. I will not discharge the bromine water into my yard any more. I will use the sanitary sewer where I know the water will be properly treated without affecting the environment. I hope my tree recovers and the remaining salts disperse soon.
