Depending on what engine your Jeep has........
Typically the starter is located on the front of the engine alongside the flywheel. Now, I'm no mechanic but that's pretty much basic "Automotive 101" info. Open the hood and look around. You'll also see a serpentine belt, a battery, a bunch of hoses, a radiator, and lower down in the front even a starter.
Ahhh......this is good information for just about any internal combustion engine in any vehicle made anywhere at any time. These things don't change.....just the intelligence of the operator that does.
Sometimes one learns to look in the mirror and thinks, "maybe I should let the brain surgeon work on that brain" or "maybe I should take this vehicle to a trained mechanic".

The solenoid is built on the starter.
The starter is located under the Jeep on the drivers side. There is a guard plate that has to be removed to access it. It is right when the transmission connects to the engine.
