I just ordered a Qwikbun yesterday, so I'm really excited about that. But here's how I currently do my messy bun:
You need 2 hair ties and some bobby pins if you have bangs or layers. So first what you want to do with one of the hair ties is just pull your hair up into a ponytail wherever you want the messy bun to sit on your head. After you've done that, bend your head over and kind of "fan" your hair out, or make it so it looks like a fountain. Then do what I call "trapping" all the hair and then tying the second hair tie around it. Then, you can tuck all the ends that are sticking out right next to your head under the ponytail or you can pin them back with the bobby pins. Hope you enjoy!!

∙ 12y agoit's really simple and really easy! with thick hair, it's much more easier to make a bun than if you have thin hair. What you do is first, you tie it up in a ponytail, then you start messing around with your hair until it looks really bad (trust me, it will look much better after your done) then twirl it around and around and mess it up again. Get another hair tie and tie half of your hair into a mini bun. Then with the leftover hair, but it around and tie it firmly. DONE! if you have REALLY THICK HAIR it works to just put a normal bun, and if you mess it up, it looks good. Also, if you have any hair spray, that will help adjust and you can put some hair pins here and there to make it better! Perfect for school, especially when you wake up really late and don't have time to wash your hair. Perfect for dances. (Guys really go for this kind of hairstyle. It looks much more natural then curling/straightning your hair, and it seems like you haven't tried to look pretty and you do. That's what guys like)
