It depends totally upon the reason for which it is bucking to begin with. It can be a number of things, one being Back pain. Run your fingers along the horses spine and if he or she flinches then it's likely that there may be a little pain there. Horses can also buck if they haven't been exercised enough, from excitement or if they are badly behaved. Make sure that if it is not pain, that the horse is repremanded (lightly) each time it bucks so it knows it is doing something wrong.

Make sure your horse is exercised regularly to avoid too much pent up energy.
