I replaced a key on an older car (a Chevy) by taking the VIN number and Title (to prove ownership) into a dealer who was able to cut a new key. Call your local Subaru dealer and find out if they can do the same.
To replace a broken key in a 91 Subaru ignition, you will need to contact a locksmith. The locksmith can cut a key to match your ignition.
If you have lost your key, you have to get a new ignition for the car. There is no way they can ujust give you one or make one without a copy!

my 93 sl2 does the same thing. the "center" of the ignition sticks "in" (depressed) when removing key. i always just "pop" it out and the alarm stops.
Take your VIN number to the dealer and they will give you the key code for the car (have to prove ownership) then they will order a blank key, which you take to a specialist locksmith, give them the code and they will cut the key.
