Yes that is a rare occurrence.
2002 - 2005 Ram 1500 will bolt in, but you need to match the correct ratio.
for my 02 1500 2wd its 75/90 gear oil
NO 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton axels are a different size. Won't work.
You have to take the differential cover off and an take clips off the two axles they slide right out
The wheel will wobble, and it may have a axel seal leaking gear oil onto the brakes.
That is a vent tube, It let's the pressure out of the differential so it don't blow the grease seals out.
You bet. Given a few criteria. Is the vehicle the axle is going INTO a 4wd? If so, the axle gear ratios MUST match if the vehicle is EVER to be driven in 4wd. Otherwise transmission/transfercase/axle damage may, and probably will result. Are both vehicles the same load rating, 1500, 2500? There are issues putting a 3/4 ton axle into a 1/2 ton truck, and vice/versa. Other than that, it should bolt right in.
No it will not, Different length
To check the rear axle ratio on your Suburban, you need to safely jack up the vehicle to get access to the the rear axle. Then there should be a metal tag on one of the bolts on the rear axle cover indicating the axle ratio. The ratio varies with different options and load capacities, so it's not the same for all Suburban's.
