Success is the result of hard work rather than intelligence?

I believe that is not true that success is the result of hard work because i played Halo 3 throughout the whole day and i got good results for my exams. Points For: * Working hard makes your mind more ready for the exam

Although this is mostly speculation as opposed to fact, I find that success is in direct correlation to the amount of work put into the goal or outcome. Regardless of IQ, success does not simply come to you, it is something that must be sought and therefore worked for.

Intelligence can be defined as the innate ability for fast, accurate thought processing, which can be measured using the Intelligence Quotient. Clearly, both the innate ability and the training and practices are important in determining someones success rate, but the statement in question clearly lands support on nurturing the student by intense training and education, or what the statement calls "hard work".

In most cases, those who work hard tend to out do those who simply rely on their innate ability. This is particularly demonstrated in the classroom, where the brightest minds are not always those who score the highest on a given test. Test scores tend to correlate with those who spend the most time studying and putting effort into their grades. Success outside of the classroom also befalls those who work hard as opposed to those born with intelligence. For example, in a research lab, "where a collection of bright minds work together in understanding the subject in study, good experimental results are more likely obtained by those who painstakingly repeat the trials with high precision. Intelligence may play a limited role in this setting because research groups work in teams, where collective intelligence is somewhat normalized."
