Because the moon is satelite.

The sun (or any stars) don't orbit the earth. The moon does.

A star is a body that involves a Nuclear reaction that emits heat, light, and multiple forms of other Electromagnetic Radiation. Planets and Moons do not have such reactions and therefore only reflect light from other bodies.
